Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of corporate commercial legal assistant experience, with strong transactional exposure
- Demonstrated experience with corporate minute books, annual returns, and registry filings
- Confident drafting documents and managing closing processes
- Skilled with Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Technologically curious and eager to learn new systems and tools
- Thoughtful, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities with care
- Good communicator with strong client service orientation
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a small, supportive team
- Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
This role is ideal for someone who has strong corporate commercial experience, enjoys transactional work, and is comfortable managing a variety of corporate tasks. You will play a key role in keeping our corporate practice running smoothly, and your organizational strength and attention to detail will make a noticeable impact every day.
This is an in‑office position.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare closing agendas, transactional documents, and reporting packages
- Draft corporate commercial documents, including shareholder agreements and asset/share purchase agreements
- Conduct corporate due diligence searches and assist with organizing due diligence responsesi>
- Assist with in corporations, amendments, continuances, dissolutions, and other BC and federal registry filings
- Manage calendars and deadlines to support smooth transaction flow
- Prepare correspondence, forms, and legal documents with accuracy and professionalism
- Handle billing, time entry, and general file management
- Open and close files in accordance with firm procedures
- Assist with maintain corporate records and minute books
- Assist with the preparation of annual returns, resolutions, and other corporate maintenance documents
- Provide day-to-day support to two lawyers in the corporate/commercial practice group
