Building Services Technician – CBRE – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
About the RoleAs a CBRE Building Services Technician, you will work with contractors, vendors, building staff and tenants to ensure that building tasks and tenant requests are completed. This role is part of the Building Services/Tenant Services department which supports the Property Managers and the team.
What You'll Do- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, biannual and annual inspections of the property and its equipment.
- Conduct base building repairs in base building rooms, common areas, and mechanical areas.
- Coordinate various projects with contractors and maintain all parties follow the property's policy and procedures.
- Ensure preventative maintenance, inspections, projects, and tenant requests are completed in a timely manner.
- Work with tenant requests and complaints while maintaining exceptional customer service and a professional image.
- Maintain work permits and safe work documentation with contractors, ensuring they are up to date and follow the property's policies and procedures.
- Assist marketing with event set‑up and take‑down with the team and tenants.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
- Work alongside building staff, property team, and tenants in a professional manner.
- High school diploma or GED with up to 2 years of job‑related experience.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Strong handyman skills – a must.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Basic math skills; ability to calculate simple figures.
