Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

• Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Monitor Construction in Progress (CIP) projects and coordinate with the construction team to ensure timely capitalization.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing journal entries related to fixed assets and lease accounting.
• Reconcile fixed asset sub‑ledgers to the general ledger.
• Analyze commercial real‑estate and equipment leases for proper accounting treatment.
• Maintain the lease portfolio in accounting software, ensuring accuracy of right‑of‑use (ROU) assets and lease liabilities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual audit and disclosure schedules.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal controls (SOX) and GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Perform variance analysis on fixed assets and lease accounts for management reporting.
• Support variance analysis for operating expenses for management reporting as needed.
• Support inter‑company reconciliations as needed.
• Support cross‑functional projects, including ERP upgrades or system implementations.
• Special ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience:
  
  3‑5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, specifically focusing on fixed assets and lease accounting.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage experience would be an asset).
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 842/IFRS 16 (Leases) and ASC 360 (Fixed Assets).
• Attributes:
  Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Preferred: CPA, CMA, or equivalent designation.
