General Accountant

About The Role

Our private client in the building materials industry is seeking a General Accountant to join their team. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform account reconciliations and support month‑end close
• Prepare financial statements and reporting schedules
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor AP/AR activity
• Assist with budgeting, audits, and financial analysis

• Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical and communication skills

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Completion of Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting
• Experience with MS Excel is a strong asset
• Must have experience working with accounting software
• Must be able to work in the office
