Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant role at Horizon Recruitment Inc. This position supports a growing accounting team across Western Canada and is a hands-on role focused on accuracy, consistency, and insight across all finance functions. It thrives in a fast-evolving, collaborative environment and requires owning work from end to end.

Base pay range: CA $80,000.00/yr - CA $90,000.00/yr. Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered.

• Lead assigned areas such as reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
• Drive accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
• Prepare financial reports and internal statements to support decision-making
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage intercompany accounts
• File GST and PST returns and assist with tax reporting requirements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and costing activities
• Collaborate with external and internal auditors during financial reviews
• Contribute to ERP (Sage X3) implementation by improving and documenting processes
• Translate financial insights into actionable information for non-finance colleagues
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
• Support ESG and regulatory reporting as needed

• CPA designation or near completion
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Comfortable working with multiple systems and large datasets
• Manufacturing or similar industry experience preferred
• Previous Sage (any version) experience an asset, X3 not required
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for clear communication
• Willingness to work full-time in office, with some flexibility after training
