POSITION OVERVIEW
The Intermediate Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the Finance & Accounting team, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and contributing to the efficiency of accounting operations. As part of a growing department, this position offers an opportunity to refine processes, support financial reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Associate will perform a variety of financial and administrative support tasks, including but not limited to:
- Reconciling accounts, including bank reconciliations, in a timely manner.
- Managing entry, filing, and scanning for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Providing clerical and accounting support to the accounting department.
- Accurately typing, preparing, and maintaining accounting documents and records.
- Preparing general ledger postings, and statements.
- Entering key financial transaction data daily into the database.
- Supporting company personnel with accounting inquiries.
- Researching, tracking, and resolving discrepancies in accounting or documentation.
- Informing management and compiling activity reports and summaries.
- Adhering to established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Continuously updating job knowledge and skills.
- Participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance preferred;
- Subject to Criminal Background Checks and must have clean record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform business math (e.g., basic algebra, ratios).
- Analytical mindset with curiosity and attention to detail.
- High motivation and urgency to complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Effective listening and communication skills, including phone etiquette.
- Ability to follow written instructions and documented procedures.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
- Diplomacy and tact in handling challenging customers.
- Basic accounting knowledge combined with strong computer proficiency.
