Controller - Contract

Recruitment Partners Inc. is supporting our client in their search for a Contract Controller to join their team. The organization operates in the oil and gas services sector, is private and private‑equity‑backed, and offers a highly flexible work arrangement, including hybrid or in‑office options. The office is located in NE Calgary. This is an excellent opportunity to join a strong organization on a contract basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

• Review journal entries (JEs) and process accounting transactions, including full‑cycle AP and AR.
• Prepare and post complex journal entries, including conducting research on appropriate accounting treatment as needed under IFRS.
• Right‑of‑use (ROU) asset and lease accounting for capital leases.
• Transfer pricing entries between related entities.
• Identifying and assessing risks associated with new or unusual transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including consolidated reporting for multiple entities.
• Perform foreign exchange (FX) analysis, troubleshooting variances, and ensuring reasonability of FX impacts.
• Assist with corporate tax matters; exposure to multi‑jurisdictional tax filings is an asset.
• Coordination with external tax advisors for preparation and review of returns.

• Professional accounting designation (CPA) required or equivalent.
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the oil & gas services industry or another multi‑entity environment.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, financial statements, and monthly close processes.
• Proficiency with foreign exchange (FX) analysis and troubleshooting multi‑currency transactions.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to identify issues or risks in transactions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
