About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring professional looking to gain hands-on experience in payroll and full-cycle accounting, with potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs.

This role is ideal for someone with a diploma in accounting and/or payroll and at least one year of practical experience (including practicum, part-time, or full-time work).

Key Responsibilities

Payroll (Primary Focus)

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time via ADP, our payroll system
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
  • Administer benefits, deductions, and statutory remittances
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes (T4s, ROEs, government filings)
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries professional and confidentially
  • Account Support

  • Accounts payable processing
  • Accounts receivables collections and settlement processing
  • Preparation of weekly supplier payment runs
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Processing employee expense claims
  • Support with month-end close procedures
  • Maintain general ledger and cost allocation accuracy
  • Support on adhoc finance projects
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting, Payroll, Business Administration, or related field (or near completion of a designation)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (practicum, part-time, or full-time combined acceptable)
  • Experience processing payroll in a Canadian environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll legislation (CRA, EI, CPP, income tax deductions)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (Quick Books or similar) is an asset
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Immediately available or commencing April.
