About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring professional looking to gain hands-on experience in payroll and full-cycle accounting, with potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs.
This role is ideal for someone with a diploma in accounting and/or payroll and at least one year of practical experience (including practicum, part-time, or full-time work).
Key Responsibilities
Payroll (Primary Focus)
Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time via ADP, our payroll systemMaintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrityAdminister benefits, deductions, and statutory remittancesAssist with year-end payroll processes (T4s, ROEs, government filings)Respond to employee payroll inquiries professional and confidentiallyAccount Support
Accounts payable processingAccounts receivables collections and settlement processingPreparation of weekly supplier payment runsBank and credit card reconciliationsProcessing employee expense claimsSupport with month-end close proceduresMaintain general ledger and cost allocation accuracySupport on adhoc finance projectsQualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting, Payroll, Business Administration, or related field (or near completion of a designation)Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (practicum, part-time, or full-time combined acceptable)Experience processing payroll in a Canadian environment preferredWorking knowledge of payroll legislation (CRA, EI, CPP, income tax deductions)Proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with accounting software (Quick Books or similar) is an assetExperience with ADP Workforce Now is preferredImmediately available or commencing April.Skills & Competencies
