The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the franchisor and corporate entities. This role combines strong financial reporting expertise with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration to support a growing national brand. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, building scalable processes, and working closely with leadership.

This role is designed as a key succession position within the finance team, with the opportunity to grow into the Financial Controller role as the organization continues to expand.

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all GL accounts and reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany transactions and multi-entity consolidations.
• Lead year-end audit and external accountant relationships.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting for corporate locations.
• Monitor store P&Ls, labour, food cost, and operational KPIs.
• Partner with Operations to identify trends and opportunities.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for corporate stores.
• Maintain and reconcile franchise royalty and fee reporting.
• Support franchise sales reporting and dashboards.
• Assist with franchise financial analysis and benchmarking.
• Prepare and file GST returns and support other regulatory filings.
• Assist with payroll, WCB, and government remittances.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Maintain and optimize Net Suite accounting workflows.
• Support development of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
• Identify and implement process improvements and documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls and finance procedures.

• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
• Assist leadership with financial modelling and analysis.
• Provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

• Mentor and support the Accounting Coordinator.

• CPA designation (or actively pursuing).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite experience is a strong asset).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset.

• Experience in franchising, retail, restaurant, or multi-location environments.
• Experience working with dashboards or BI tools (Power BI an asset).
• Experience supporting multi-entity or consolidated financials.
• Strong attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
