We are hiring for a full time Associate Accountant to join our Stride Capital - Lease Accounting Team!

Additional Information: The preferred candidate for this role will be located in Calgary. This is an in-person role requiring the individual to work full-time in office at our Stride Capital office located in SW Calgary. This position is a 6 month temporary assignment.

As an Associate Accountant, reporting to the Leader, Lease Accounting, you’ll play an integral role in the accounting functions of the organization. Under general direction, you will provide support to the Accounting department. This position is accountable for accurate and timely posting and reconciling of all assigned tasks.

What You'll be Doing:

MS Office (Excel/Word):

Basic Skills:

copy/paste, basic formulas, formatting, saving, track changes, basic hyperlinks, sort, filter, group, spell/grammar check, views, protection.

Microsoft Outlook:

Basic Skills:

email, book meetings, file email, book resources, use task lists, notes, view other people's calendars etc.

Work within deadlines.

Able to work with minimal supervision.

Work well with others either inside or outside department.

Work independently or in a team environment.

Detail oriented and high-quality standard of work produced.

Understand and apply corporate policies.

Understand change and the reasons for it.

What you Bring:

2+ years working within an accounting team. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Working towards an accounting certificate or diploma is considered an asset.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Intermediate Computer Skills, includes but is not limited to: understanding of PC, moving files, copying, internet usage etc.

Willingness and aptitude to learn.

Basic investigative skills to complete work including identification of variances, ability to research items within the various computer systems and help answer questions asked.
