As our operations grow, we are looking for a Junior Accountant to support our finance function and help maintain strong financial controls. The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle in a collaborative, professional environment. The position is primarily in office, with a limited hybrid schedule available after onboarding.
Key Responsibilities- Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Perform daily bookkeeping activities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements
- Support month end and year end close activities
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2 to 5 years related experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Relevant experience in the higher education sector, particularly at a Private Career College.
- Experience working cross-functionally with admissions, academics and leadership.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
