Traffic Specialist 3
Location:
Calera AL 35040
Contract: 3 years
Shift: Standard
Pay Rate: $50.00 hourly on W2

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist internal customers with transportation needs
- Resolve logistical issues
- Build strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal customers
- Maintain and have strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment in both routine and emergency situations
- Review freight invoices for accuracy
- Maintain knowledge of contractual agreements with carriers to maximize freight savings
- Accredited College Degree - High school diploma with equivalent experience acceptable
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in the transportation services field
- Previous experience reviewing and approving freight invoices
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and nights Preferences
- College degree preferred Skills and Competencies
- General knowledge of logistics to efficiently and effectively route material and equipment in routine and emergency situations
- Knowledge of carriers, NMFC Classifications, and DOT regulations
- Familiarity with generation, transmission, and distribution equipment and material
- Knowledge of air freight, truck, Hotshot, OS/OW Regulations, and International Freight Requirements
- Knowledge of Internation Freight movement
- Knowledge of Parcel and Small Package transport
- Knowledge or hazmat and radioactive materials transport
- Demonstrated excellence in safety
- Ability to negotiate and use problem-solving skills
- Proactive and self-starter
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete tasks and projects in a timely fashion
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a Team Environment Possible travel.
