Performs routine work assisting the Kiln Systems Tech to regulate and control smooth operations of the plant. Uses constant visual checks to inform the operator of problems, and assisting in relinquishing problems under the supervision of the operator. Also, the attendant will perform Quality Control test to help ensure the quality of products being manufactured; and perform all other tasks not specifically indicated.

• Must comply with company, state and governmental health and safety regulations, policies and procedures at all times.
• Check water pumps and water flow for proper functioning.
• Maintain and check spray compressors & N3 lances, baghouses, pollution control equipment, all feed chutes, rams, elevators, etc.
• Must be able to operate any equipment as assigned (i.e. front-end loader, bobcat, and forklift) both safely and efficiently.
• Conducts Quality Control test on a routine and as needed basis to ensure proper quality.
• Keeps water pumped from all sumps in kiln department.
• Cleans hopper area, bins, and conveyors, and unclogs and cleans up plug-ups.
• Helps clean out material from under conveyors and catwalks.
• Ensures that the different types of products are conveyed into the appropriate bins.
• Checks kiln bearings and water flow through these bearings.
• Maintains coal mill discharge and scrapes area clean.
• Checks auxiliary engine for proper amounts of fuel, oil, etc. and ensures operational Condition.
• Keeps belts and rollers on belt scale clean.
• Perform related work and clean-up duties assigned.
• Remains on shift until properly relieved by replacement.
• Reports promptly any potential operational or safety problem to supervision.
• Performs all work assigned in relation to this work in a neat and orderly manner.
• Measures bins as required.
• Completes all equipment check sheets and inspections as required.
• Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.
• Must be able to multi task with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.
• Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Must possess the basic reading and math skills.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP.
• Strong record of attendance reliability.
• Must know, understand and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
• Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job.

• Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
• Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
• Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
• Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.
• The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions:
  Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.
• The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time):
  Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
• Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds.

Required

Education:

High school diploma or GED Equivalent.

Preferred Experience:

1-2 years. Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired.
