Environmental Specialist

Overview

The Environmental Specialist I supports environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and sustainability initiatives. This entry-level role works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, reduce environmental impacts, and promote sustainable practices across operations.

• Assist with environmental compliance activities and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Support environmental sampling, monitoring, and data collection efforts.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Help manage environmental permits and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participate in sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction efforts.
• Assist with project coordination and documentation related to environmental programs.
• Conduct fieldwork, including outdoor sampling in varying weather conditions.
• Operate power boats and watercraft as required for sampling and monitoring activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in environmental sampling, monitoring, or compliance.
• Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team on multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Experience operating power boats and watercraft.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Willingness to collaborate with diverse stakeholders on environmental matters.
