Junior/Senior High School Principal Position

Job Description:

Valley R-VI School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Junior/Senior High School Principal position for the upcoming school year. This position is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position.

Reports To:

The Junior/Senior High School Principal reports directly to the District Superintendent and works under the authority of the Valley R-VI Board of Education.

Qualifications:

* Education:

* A Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field is required.
* Specialist or advanced degree preferred.
* Certification/Licensure:
* Appropriate DESE certification
* Valid Missouri Principal's Certificate preferred

* Work Experience:

* Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience required.
* Previous administrative experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to promote the district mission and maintain a positive image of Valley R-VI School District to students, staff, parents, and the public.
* Strong instructional leadership skills with knowledge of curriculum development, assessment practices, and data-driven decision-making.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, community members, and district leadership.
* Knowledge of Missouri school law, DESE regulations, and Board policies.
* Ability to supervise, evaluate, and support certified and classified staff.
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
* Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Essential Duties:
* Provides instructional leadership in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation for grades 7-12.
* Develops, implements, and monitors the school improvement plan.
* Supervises and evaluates certified and classified staff.
* Recommends the hiring, assignment, discipline, and dismissal of personnel.
* Oversees student discipline and implements the student code of conduct in a fair and consistent manner per policy.
* Assigns students to classes and oversees master scheduling.
* Supervises extracurricular and co-curricular programs and activities.
* Oversees daily building operations including safety procedures and emergency preparedness.
* Develops and monitors the building budget in collaboration with the Superintendent.
* Maintains compliance with district, state, and federal laws and regulations.
* Facilitates communication between students, staff, parents, and community members.
* Establishes and maintains a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment conducive to student achievement.
* Participates in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities (e.g., IEP, 504, PAT, professional learning communities, CSIP committee, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information.
* Promotes high standards of teaching, learning, and professional conduct.
* Serves as the instructional leader and primary representative of the Junior/Senior High School.
