Shift Lead

Overview

Walgreens is hiring an Assistant Manager, Operations to open and close the store in the absence of management and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

• Open and close the store, start up required systems, handle cash, and ensure the floor and stock room are ready for the business day; open the back door for vendor deliveries.
• Process product returns, voids, refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change at the registers.
• Register all sales on the assigned cash register, verify scanned items, record price modifications and voids.
• Assist the manager or assistant store manager with order exceptions, reverse logistics, and vendor ordering processes.
• Develop, reset, and revise displays for promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities in all relevant departments and locations.
• Make daily price changes, display proper signage, and comply with local pricing regulations.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
• Cooperate with interior and exterior maintenance, request repairs, and keep the store orderly and clean.
• Separate food items, rotate consumables using FIFO, and restock outs.
• Spare at the pharmacy window as requested and ensure compliance with state laws regarding regulated products.
• Bag check team members before leaving, comply with all company policies, and complete special assignments as assigned.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Consideration for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
