Job Summary & Responsibilities

Works under the PHP Program Manager to provide all required nursing services in a psychiatric partial hospitalization setting, including receiving and documenting physician orders, completing nursing assessments, and conducting educational and support groups.

  • Performs and documents complete nursing and safety assessments of psychiatric and dual diagnosis patients.
  • Implements appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings and evaluates patient response.
  • Facilitates didactic groups, prepares discharge planning, documents progress, and provides information to interdisciplinary team.
  • Uses knowledge of resources to meet educational needs of patients and families while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Establishes positive relationships with all clients and exemplifies the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Works effectively with all healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive quality care.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to other team members in patient care.
  • Pursues continuing education through professional activities.
  • Applies methods to control costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care and reports potential safety issues through the occurrence reporting system.
  • Assists with prior authorization for services, ensures registration process is complete, and completes utilization review in a timely manner.
  • Assists patients in managing medication in accordance with PHP policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Current Idaho (RN) Registered Nurse license; compact accepted but must obtain Idaho RN license within 90 days of hire.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with behavioral health patients; chemical dependency experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
