Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining competent care delivery to patients in our Endoscopy Setting. You will be a clinical resource for physicians and other hospital staff, participate in all procedures of varying complexity, and maintain equipment and patient flow.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a clinical resource for physicians and hospital staff regarding instrument choices and function based on manufacturer specifications and guidelines.
  • Participate in procedures such as ERCP, Spyglass, EUS, bronchoscopy, and esophageal manometry.
  • Recognize physical landmarks and demonstrate advanced skill in instrument manipulation, tissue acquisition, device placement, and equipment setup.
  • Assist with and carry out functions required to safely perform endoscopy procedures, considering age‑appropriate care.
  • Proactively respond to intra‑procedural complications and participate in emergency interventions.
  • Assume primary responsibility for removing out‑of‑date equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect scopes and other reusable equipment per protocol, perform manual pre‑cleaning, and activate reprocessing procedures.
  • Facilitate patient flow by transporting patients within the department and across the hospital, and assist nurses with schedule coordination.
  • Participate in planning the next day’s schedule, assessing adequacy of resources, and arranging additional staff or flexing staff off as needed.
  • Identify quality improvement opportunities and lead staff in projects using FOCUS‑PDCA principles.
  • Independently prepare and test cleaning solutions and change filters on schedule and as necessary.
  • Contact patients to provide information regarding arrival time, transportation needs, etc.
  • Prepare the procedure room, assemble scopes and other equipment based on physician preference, patient age, special needs, and anticipated interventions.
Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of technologist course or comparable experience preferred.
  • One year of hospital‑based experience preferred.
Hourly Wage Estimate

$17.13 - $23.98 per hour; the estimate reflects the typical wage range for candidates hired. Factors such as specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role may determine the actual salary, typically below the midpoint of the range.
