Summary
The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating, developing, and refining electrical designs that form the foundation of JTS’s Power Packaging products. The role focuses on conceptual design, system integration, and documentation to ensure projects meet performance, safety, and cost requirements. The designer works closely with cross‑functional teams to produce design packages including drawings, schematics, and bills of materials that meet customer requirements, industry codes, and JTS standards.
This position requires strong technical capability, creativity, and attention to detail to support innovation and excellence in product development.

Accountabilities- Create and develop electrical system designs for Power Package units and Power Distribution Centers.
- Generate detailed one‑lines, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using electrical layout CAD tools.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure system integration and cross‑discipline layout compatibility.
- Prepare electrical Bills of Material (BOMs) and component lists for production release.
- Participate in design reviews to validate functionality, manufacturability, safety, and code compliance.
- Apply industry standards and best practices to ensure alignment with NEC, NFPA, UL, and customer specifications.
- Support product development by designing efficient, scalable, and reliable control and power distribution systems.
- Utilize drawing control and revision tracking in accordance with JTS document control procedures.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to troubleshoot and enhance existing designs for product improvement initiatives.

- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent work experience in Electrical Design, Drafting, or Engineering.
- Proficiency with electrical layout CAD tools;
AutoCAD and Solid Works preferred. - Strong understanding of power distribution systems (switch gear, transformers), control panels, and system integration.
- Knowledge of electrical design codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, UL, and IEEE (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays).
- This role will be in office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Mobility:
Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs. - Manual Dexterity:
Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. - Lifting:
Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty‑five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards. - Visual and Auditory Requirements:
Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
