Planning Manager

Abatec is assisting their client, a major UK infrastructure contractor, who is delivering essential energy transmission and renewable projects across the South West & South Wales.

This permanent position offers the chance to play a key role in the design, procurement and construction of high-voltage substation projects, supporting the delivery of critical national infrastructure.

This is a client-facing role, requiring collaboration across project, construction and engineering teams

As Planning Manager, you will:

* Lead the production of robust, fully integrated programmes covering design, procurement and construction phases

* Manage and update project programmes using Primavera P6, ensuring accuracy against live project changes

* Liaise closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Site Engineers to ensure programmes reflect site progress

* Develop and manage detailed progress trackers to substantiate reporting and support future tenders

* Review and assess programme change, impact and delay analysis in an NEC contract environment

* Mentor and support less experienced planners within the team

Our client requires a Planning Manager with:

* Proven experience planning major infrastructure projects within a high-voltage or power transmission environment

* Knowledge and experience of National Grid substation projects

* Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and project controls

* Experience working under NEC forms of contract

* Previous experience managing or mentoring a planning team

* stakeholder management skills, able to engage at all levels including senior leadership

Salary/Benefits:

 * £75,000 - £95,000 per annum

* Hybrid working (2 WFH & 3 days in the office)
