Overview
Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Generalist
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Generalist is responsible for performing laboratory testing across multiple disciplines to support patient care. The role involves adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines while contributing to a large hospital system with opportunities for long-term employment and professional growth.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment following established procedures.
- Perform and document quality control checks.
- Accurately report test results while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participate in training and continuing education.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols.
- Valid California CLS license - Generalist.
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Experience working as a CLS.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Experienced with lab machines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in blood banking preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Molecular Biology and Blood Bank is a plus.
The position is based in a laboratory setting requiring moderate physical activity, with a team of 4-5 individuals. Shifts may vary, requiring flexibility, including the ability to work rotating weekends and holidays. The morning shift runs from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, and the night shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Safety and compliance training are provided, ensuring adherence to all laboratory safety procedures and regulatory standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodland Hills, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $150.00 - $150.00/hr.
