Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations with primary ownership of the Accounts Payable function. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient, scalable, AP and accounting operations in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, operational rigor, and hands‑on leadership to support a high‑volume, multi‑currency and multi‑entity environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations Oversight- Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations with emphasis on AP, while supporting the integrity of the general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities related to AP and accruals.
- Review, process and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses.
- Maintain alignment between AP subledger and general ledger.
- Support balance sheet integrity and working capital management initiatives.
- Support cash forecasting by providing AP disbursement visibility.
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting operations and AP workflows.
- Lead AP automation initiatives (OCR, invoice workflow tools, ERP enhancements). Collaborate with IT on ERP and systems optimization.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Design and maintain strong internal controls over AP and related accounting processes.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of PBC schedules.
- Monitor for duplicate payments, fraud risk, and control gaps.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties within AP and disbursement processes.
- Oversee full‑cycle AP operations: invoice processing, coding, approvals, payment runs, and vendor maintenance.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of high‑volume invoices and expense reports.
- Monitor AP aging and resolve exceptions, discrepancies, and vendor disputes.
- Establish and enforce AP policies and procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop AP and accounting staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.
- Assess resource needs and support hiring and training as the organization scales.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CMA/CPA preferred).
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant AP and close exposure.
- Prior people management experience required.
- Experience in high‑volume, multi‑entity, and/or multi‑currency environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations best practices.
- Deep understanding of AP controls.
- ERP experience (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar).
- Experience with AP automation and OCR tools is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Strong operational mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands‑on execution.
- Continuous improvement and process optimization orientation.
- Experience in managing shared services or offshore staff.
