Children and Youth Coordinator

Children & Youth Services Coordinator Roddenbery Memorial Library | Cairo, GA

The Roddenbery Memorial Library welcomes applications for the Children & Youth Services Coordinator position. This position will start at 29 hours per week, eventually moving to full‑time.

The ideal candidate for the Children & Youth Services Coordinator position is an experienced, creative and forward-looking individual. They should have strong technology skills, the ability to partner with a variety of community organizations, and a flexible schedule, including some Saturdays.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains the Children and Youth department appearance and collection in collaboration with the Collections Manager.
• Assists children in selecting and locating library materials.
• Plans and conducts programs for children to encourage reading, viewing, listening and use of library materials and facilities.
• Confers with teachers, parents and community groups to assist in developing programs to encourage and improve children’s communication skills.
• Compiles lists of materials of interest to children.
• Conducts activities including story telling, book talks, puppet shows, etc.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Three to four years of related experience and/or training.
• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

This position starts at $15/hr.
