Support Team Manager – Residential Care and Support Services – Hengoed and Caerphilly, South Wales
We are seeking a dedicated Support Team Manager to join a caring team providing support for people with learning disabilities in Hengoed and Caerphilly, South Wales. The Support Team Manager will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred services across residential settings in these areas.
ResponsibilitiesThe Support Team Manager will lead teams in providing personalised care, support planning and risk assessments. Key duties include:
- Managing budgets and care hours
- Supervising staff rotas
- Ensuring adherence to legislative guidelines, including the Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding and DOLS
- Fostering a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture
- Ensuring people supported are involved in their care and community activities
- Delivering contractual key performance indicators
- Continuously updating support plans based on feedback
- Prior experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- At least one year of management experience within social care
- Relevant qualification (QCF Level 4 or 5 in management), or willingness to work towards this qualification
- Knowledge of legislative standards, safeguarding procedures and active support strategies
- Experience delivering person‑centred support that maximises independence and promotes community engagement
- Supporting people with learning disabilities or mental health needs
- Management qualification (QCF level 4/5 preferred or willing to work towards)
- Experience in social care team leadership and support planning
- Knowledge of legislative and safeguarding standards
- Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills
- Flexibility and ability to participate in out‑of‑hours service
£33,000 per annum
