We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial function on a project or section of works. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in driving commercial success, protecting the company’s contractual position, and delivering accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

This role also provides leadership and support to junior commercial team members, including Quantity Surveyors, Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Graduates and Trainees.

Key Responsibilities

* Take supervised responsibility for the commercial management of allocated projects or work packages.

* Prepare and submit applications for payment, valuations, and commercial reports.

* Review incoming accounts, correspondence, and contractual communications, responding appropriately.

* Manage subcontractor accounts, including assessment of variations, payments and final accounts.

* Support senior commercial staff in negotiations and commercial discussions.

* Ensure compliance with contract and subcontract terms (NEC experience advantageous).

* Maintain accurate and orderly commercial records and documentation.

* Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior team members.

* Support continuous improvement and drive commercial best practice.

About You

* Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or equivalent commercial role within civil engineering or infrastructure.

* Strong understanding of contract and subcontract terms.

* Experience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial reporting.

* Excellent organisational and communication skills.

* Proactive, accountable and commercially astute.

* Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, supply chain and internal teams.
