Buyer - Cadillac Area

Salary Range: $62,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to expand the supply base and ensure competitive options.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to production schedules.
• Collaborate with production and planning departments to optimize inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
• Monitor supplier performance, address non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply chain reliability.
• Conduct market research to identify new products, technologies, and potential supply chain risks.

• Proven experience in a manufacturing purchasing or procurement role.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing functions.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications or engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory control.

• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings or technical specifications.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE).
• Background in global sourcing, import/export logistics, or customs compliance.
• Proficiency with advanced e-procurement platforms or supply chain analytics tools.
