Qualifications

• Education:
  
  Certified or registered Medical Assistant from an accredited institution required (RMA).
• Training and
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years Medical office experience preferred in clinical setting. Lab, EKG and X-ray experience preferred...
• Job Knowledge:
  Understands the role of working as part of a medical care team. Is aware of limitations as well as responsibilities. Skilled at effectively communicating with patients or their delegate.
• Safety Sensitive: YES

This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient.

Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.
