Alternative Education Director starting July 1
MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as our Alternative Education Director for our 75 student high school alternative education program located at our Frank Jewett School in Buxton, Maine.
The director will provide the administrative leadership of the district's Alternative Education Programs, including daily management functions. The successful candidate will foster a strong sense of community for staff, students, and families; supervise and evaluate staff; design and facilitate professional learning opportunities; and foster strong instructional skills in an experiential learning environment.
Applicants for this position must have a master’s degree;
Maine State Certification preferably a #040; experience with at‑risk or alternative education students; and five or more years of experience in school leadership, administration, or special education. Preference will be given to applicants with evidence of a strong desire to connect with alternative learners and the ability to be creative and flexible in thinking.
