Responsibilities
  • Administers medications as prescribed, monitors for adverse effects; disposes of all discontinued medication in compliance with regulations; monitors the filling of prescriptions and change of shift drug count.
  • Responsible for ensuring the well‑being of clients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for clients.
  • Responsible for assessing, screening and triaging clients and for maintaining medical records.
  • Responsible for collaboration with psychiatrist to assure medical needs of clients are met.
  • Responsible for collaboration with physical health providers to coordinate care and assure that physical needs of clients are met. Trains all staff in medication distribution and assures they pass the medication distribution exam prior to medication distribution with clients.
  • Educates clients and staff about medication usage, effects, and adverse effects.
  • Assess medical status of new clients, referring for outside medical care when appropriate.
  • Residential Services RN/LPN performs on‑going assessments and implements physician orders in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the orientation of clients to the program and facility.
  • Participate as a member of the treatment team in treatment planning, treatment plan review, and implementation.
  • Responsible for documentation of medical information in client record to assure continuity of care.
  • Participate in training and testing required by the corporation, including HELP (verbal de‑escalation and/or physical restraint of aggressive adults), First Aid/CPR, Blood borne Pathogens, and Fire Safety.
  • Communicates medical information to facilitate authorization and/or re‑authorization with the appropriate case manager.
  • Teaches clients about health consequences.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally and performs related duties as assigned.

AWARE RN/LPNs earn $36.00 - $40.00 per hour.

Requirements Talents, skills, and abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of the nursing process as it applies to the provision medical services to adult individuals.
  • Accurate and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in preforming CPR and in administrating First Aid.
  • Ability to assess, strengths and limitations, help establish realistic goals and measurable objectives, plan and implement, appropriate interventions, and evaluate the outcome of services provided.
  • LPN- must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree and be currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Montana.
  • RN
    - Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Registered Nursing Degree and be currently licensed as a RN in the State of Montana.
  • Should have a minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or residential setting.
