The Area Industrial Market Sector Leader will focus on Industrial Sector projects and client management for projects and pursuits with key clients in Montana. The Industrial Market Sector includes Mining, Oil and Gas, Advanced Manufacturing and Agribusiness. This role identifies and develops project opportunities, serves as a pursuit champion, and acts as a resource for HDR Industrial Sector pursuits, as well as Resources Business Group (RBG) opportunities.
Duties include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity, including field programs. The role may supplement technical and project management support on other area Resources projects, including Power and Waste markets.
Key activities will include:
- Serving as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the area, being active and visible in the industry.
- Promoting broader HDR services to clients with the Resources Business Group (RBG) Manager and Industrial Practice Leads (Mining, Agribusiness, Advanced Manufacturing and Oil, Gas and Chemicals).
- Working with the RBG Manager on development and delivery of area market sector initiatives.
- Leading and/or supporting selected pursuits through client relationship development and/or strategy and pursuit activities.
- Participating in industry associations and serving as a company role-model in business and community organizations, including giving related presentations and participating in panel discussions.
- Identifying key investments (skills, acquisitions and technology) to maintain or drive HDR into Industrial Sector leadership.
- Developing relationships with Industrial Sector counterparts in other consulting organizations and with senior leadership in key client organizations both on-site and corporately.
The position will seek opportunities to enhance HDR practices to win new work and provide opportunities for staff growth and development. It will lead or assist with identification and recruitment of prospective future Industrial Sector practice employees. Specific duties include coordination between departments and driving technical excellence.
- Coordinate support between departments.
- Drive technical excellence and coordinate technical staff to support program and marketing efforts.
- Identify needs and opportunities for new/improved technical services and products to maximize depth, effectiveness, and efficiency of the practice.
- Coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires with Industrial Sector Practice Leads, BD Leads, RBG Manager and Area Manager.
- Assist local leadership with local hires onboarding.
- Identify resource gaps and support talent management and recruiting.
- Maintain a focus on quality and continuous improvement, including lessons learned.
The position assists the Area Manager and RBG Manager in delivering services within the Industrial sector. Key responsibilities include driving client management, monitoring and action regarding sector profit and loss, ensuring project delivery, and supporting QA/QC programs.
