Montana Technological University seeks an organized and energetic Admissions Representative to engage prospective students, families, and organizations; recruiting students to apply and enroll who can benefit from and contribute to our distinct campus community of determined doers. The Admissions Representative will lead undergraduate recruitment efforts in an assigned territory to meet the university’s strategic enrollment goals. The Admissions Representative will develop relationships with inquiring students, assist them through the application process, and guide them through enrollment.

The successful candidate will manage their assigned territory, organizing recruitment activities such as attending college fairs, visiting high schools, hosting and participating in campus visits and events, and maintaining student records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. An Admission Representative must be able to learn a large amount of information about Montana Tech’s academic programs and campus resources and disseminate it to students and/or families.

DUTIES:
  • Planning, managing, and evaluating recruitment activities for prospective students within an assigned geographic territory.
  • Must be able and willing to travel in‑state and out‑of‑state via vehicle and/or air; typically 4–5 weeks per year away from the office.
  • Implement professional written and verbal communication to prospective students and their families regarding Montana Tech and guide them through the college application and enrollment process.
  • Support office operations: answer phone calls and emails, staff on‑campus recruitment events, and meet with prospective students during campus visits.
  • Give presentations and campus tours to groups.
  • Collaborate and cultivate relationships with alumni and departments across campus to support student recruitment.
  • Evaluate students for admission and make professional recommendations regarding admission.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of student, staff, and University information.
  • Carry out special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and/or Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment.
  • Work in a team‑oriented, flexible, and customer‑service oriented manner, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with campus departments and University partners.
  • Flexibility for seasonal travel and events; typical hours M-F, 8:30‑5:00.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma and some college coursework.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule allowing travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn other software as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience working in secondary education or at a college/university.
  • Demonstrated customer service, sales, or marketing experience.
  • Experience tailoring communication to varying audiences.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of Montana Tech’s academic programs and campus resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for several hours at a time.
