Permanent Prison-based role requiring full site presence and face-to-face learner engagement.
We are recruiting a skilled Groundworks Tutor to deliver vocational qualifications up to Level 2 within a prison setting. You will work with small groups of learners to develop practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours that support their long-term goals and reduce re-offending.
This role involves creating tailored training plans, delivering engaging lessons, and providing guidance to help learners overcome barriers and achieve qualifications. It requires flexibility, resilience, and a passion for vocational education.
Key ResponsibilitiesLearner Support & Vocational Delivery
- Deliver Streetworks/Groundworks qualifications up to Level 2.
- Identify individual learner needs and create personalised learning plans linked to employment goals.
- Prepare, deliver, and review comprehensive lesson plans addressing vocational skills and employability.
- Engage and motivate learners to increase retention and progression.
- Provide constructive feedback and adapt curriculum content based on learner feedback.
Programme Administration & Compliance
- Complete all required documentation (registers, enrolment forms, ILPs, reviews, awarding body paperwork) in line with contractual deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards.
- Meet contractual KPIs and performance targets.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with colleagues to support learner progression towards qualifications and employment.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Level 2 Streetworks/Groundworks qualification.
- Substantial vocational experience in Streetworks/Groundworks.
- Experience delivering vocational training.
- Ability to use diverse teaching methods to engage learners.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equal opportunities, health and safety, and data protection.
- Teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience developing curriculum and delivering roll-on, roll-off programmes.
- Empathy and experience working with disadvantaged groups or in secure environments.
- Knowledge of OFSTED Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
