FP&A Manager (Behavioral Health / Addiction Treatment)

Position SummaryThe FP&A Manager will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance management for a ~$50M, multi-site behavioral health and addiction treatment organization. This role owns the driver-based forecast, monthly variance analysis and KPI narrative, and the recurring private equity and lender reporting cadence. The FP&A Manager partners closely with Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Revenue Cycle to translate volumes, staffing, payer mix, and reimbursement dynamics into actionable financial insights.
This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with no direct reports and will leverage Sage Intacct, DOMO, and SSRS to enhance reporting accuracy, timeliness, and automation.
- Own the annual budget process end-to-end, including calendar management, templates, assumptions, and cross-functional coordination.
- Maintain a rolling forecast (12–18 months) with scenario modeling for key sensitivities such as volume, payer mix, reimbursement rates, staffing, denials, and collections timing.
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models by program and site (e.g., MAT, IOP, OP, MH, PHP/PRP), incorporating capacity, utilization, scheduling, and clinician productivity assumptions.
- Develop standardized planning inputs and documentation to reduce cycle time and improve forecast accuracy.
- Produce the monthly management reporting package, including consolidated and site-level P&Ls, KPI scorecards, variance analyses (vs. budget, forecast, and prior year), and clear narrative commentary.
- Support monthly private equity and lender reporting with high-quality, tie‑out‑ready schedules, consistent definitions, and on‑time delivery.
- Identify operational and financial risks and opportunities early and quantify their financial impact.
- Lead monthly performance review meetings with key stakeholders and ensure follow‑up actions are tracked and outcomes measured.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle to incorporate billing and collections dynamics into forecasting.
- Analyze payer mix shifts, reimbursement changes, contract terms, and rate updates, translating impacts to net revenue.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics that link clinical throughput to financial performance.
- Monitor labor and staffing drivers and productivity metrics by program and site.
- Lead cost discipline initiatives with department leaders.
- Build business cases for new initiatives including ROI and payback analyses.
- Own FP&A data and reporting workflows ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and auditability.
- Partner with Accounting to align close processes and FP&A outputs.
- Automate recurring reporting and improve data quality and governance.
- Maintain robust model controls including versioning and assumption logs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of FP&A or corporate finance experience; healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills including driver-based forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated experience producing executive‑ready reporting and variance analysis.
- Experience working with ERP and BI/reporting tools.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills.
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, outpatient multi‑site, or healthcare services organizations.
- Experience in a private equity‑backed environment and familiarity with lender reporting expectations.
- Hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct, DOMO, and/or SSRS.
- Working knowledge of revenue cycle management concepts.
