Position Summary

The FP&A Manager will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance management for a ~$50M, multi-site behavioral health and addiction treatment organization. This role owns the driver-based forecast, monthly variance analysis and KPI narrative, and the recurring private equity and lender reporting cadence.

The FP&A Manager partners closely with Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Revenue Cycle to translate volumes, staffing, payer mix, and reimbursement dynamics into actionable financial insights. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with no direct reports and will leverage Sage Intacct, DOMO, and SSRS to enhance reporting accuracy, timeliness, and automation.

Key Responsibilities Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting
  • Own the annual budget process end‑to‑end, including calendar management, templates, assumptions, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast (12–18 months) with scenario modeling for key sensitivities such as volume, payer mix, reimbursement rates, staffing, denials, and collections timing.
  • Build and maintain driver‑based financial models by program and site (e.g., MAT, IOP, OP, MH, PHP/PRP), incorporating capacity, utilization, scheduling, and clinician productivity assumptions.
  • Develop standardized planning inputs and documentation to reduce cycle time and improve forecast accuracy.
Monthly Reporting, PE/Lender Deliverables, and Executive Insights
  • Produce the monthly management reporting package, including consolidated and site‑level P&Ls, KPI scorecards, variance analyses (vs. budget, forecast, and prior year), and clear narrative commentary.
  • Support monthly private equity and lender reporting with high‑quality, tie‑out‑ready schedules, consistent definitions, and on‑time delivery.
  • Identify operational and financial risks and opportunities early and quantify their financial impact.
  • Lead monthly performance review meetings with key stakeholders and ensure follow‑up actions are tracked and outcomes measured.
Revenue, Volume, and RCM‑Linked Analytics
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle to incorporate billing and collections dynamics into forecasting.
  • Analyze payer mix shifts, reimbursement changes, contract terms, and rate updates, translating impacts to net revenue.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics that link clinical throughput to financial performance.
Cost Management and Productivity
  • Monitor labor and staffing drivers and productivity metrics by program and site.
  • Lead cost discipline initiatives with department leaders.
  • Build business cases for new initiatives including ROI and payback analyses.
Systems, Data, and Process Improvement (Sage Intacct / DOMO / SSRS)
  • Own FP&A data and reporting workflows ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and auditability.
  • Partner with Accounting to align close processes and FP&A outputs.
  • Automate recurring reporting and improve data quality and governance.
  • Maintain robust model controls including versioning and assumption logs.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of FP&A or corporate finance experience; healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills including driver‑based forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience producing executive‑ready reporting and variance analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP and BI/reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, outpatient multi‑site, or healthcare services organizations.
  • Experience in a private equity‑backed environment and familiarity with lender reporting expectations.
  • Hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct, DOMO, and/or SSRS.
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle management concepts.
Core Competencies
  • High ownership mindset with collaborative, low‑ego approach.
