HGV Class 1/Yard Worker

This specialist in marine civil contracting is looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver/ Yard Worker to join their busy team.

Reporting to the Contracts Director the role offers a competitive salary of £35-40K.

Working hours are Mon-Fri days with the requirement to stay overnight where required.

Job Description

Working from their Swadlincote based yard, you will play a crucial role in the yard's organisation and efficiency, ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are properly managed. This position requires a proactive approach to yard operations, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

* Driving Class 1 HGV vehicles to deliver critical plant equipment and materials to customer sites throughout the UK

* Operate and manoeuvre vehicles and equipment within the yard safely and efficiently

* Ensure that all equipment is stored correctly and in an orderly fashion.

* Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate smooth operations during loading and unloading processes.

* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area to promote safety and efficiency.

* Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing duties

Qualifications

* Valid HGV Class 1 license is required

* An understanding of yard operations and logistics is preferred.

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.

* Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and drivers effectively.

* A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and organisation within the yard environment.
