Overview
This is a great opportunity to step into a key leadership role within our Compounding Unit on a fixed term basis
, helping to deliver safe, high-quality medicinal products that directly impact patient care. Working a shift pattern you will play a central role in shaping how the unit operates day to day, leading people, improving processes, and ensuring we continue to operate as a centre of excellence within a highly regulated environment. As Compounding Unit Supervisor
, you’ll be responsible for the effective day-to-day supervision and management of the operators and technicians.
- Supervising and allocating staff in line with service needs, competence, and training requirements
- Ensuring safe working practices while maintaining a responsive, patient-focused service
- Leading on staff management activities including 1:1s, PDRs, probation reviews, and performance management
- Supporting the induction, training, and ongoing development of staff in liaison with the Compounding Functional Trainer
- Overseeing stock ordering, rotation, and control of raw materials, consumables, and labels to balance service delivery with cost efficiency
- Writing, reviewing, and ensuring adherence to SOPs, policies, and procedures in line with GMP and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate audit trails, documentation, and computerised records
We’re looking for someone who brings strong leadership capability alongside experience in a regulated production environment. You’ll ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience working in a regulated production environment
- Experience in aseptic manufacturing/preparation (desirable)
- Experience with in the pharmaceutical industry or a hospital pharmacy setting (desirable)
And you’ll be someone who:
- Is organised, proactive, and able to lead by example
- Has strong attention to detail and follows SOPs consistently
- Communicates effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
- Is committed to continuous improvement and professional development
- A key leadership role within a critical clinical fulfilment function
