About the Role

Hippo Staffing is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client — a respected provider of residential and therapeutic care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We are seeking a Support Worker (Level
3) to join a dedicated team providing consistent, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who have experienced adversity, helping them to achieve stability, confidence, and brighter futures.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality care, guidance, and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans.

* Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can develop trust and independence.

* Work proactively with colleagues and professionals to ensure the emotional, social, and educational needs of each child are met.

* Support young people with daily routines, education, and recreational activities.

* Maintain accurate records, reports, and risk assessments.

* Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and respond appropriately to any concerns.

* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the home’s therapeutic environment.

Requirements

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification) — essential.

* Previous experience supporting children and young people in a residential, educational, or care setting.

* Understanding of trauma-informed and child-centred approaches.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference.

* Flexible to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

* Full UK driving licence preferred.
