Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable SMT Line Operator to join our electronics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automatic assembly equipment, ensuring high-quality production output that meets schedule, cost, and time requirements. This role involves hands-on leadership of the SMT production line, accurate reporting, problem-solving, and active participation in continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain SMT production line equipment, ensuring adherence to quality and time standards.
• Lead and support production workflow to meet scheduled requirements and minimize downtime.
• Prepare workstations and equipment for production, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
• Contribute a minimum of 85% direct labor time; maintain punctuality for shift, break, and lunch schedules.
• Participate in team meetings, provide constructive feedback, and support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Adhere to all established quality management system (QMS) procedures, safety standards, and audit requirements.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized at all times.
• Accurately log production data, labor hours, and any concerns or improvement opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and engineering on process or equipment issues.
• Remain current on training requirements and retain knowledge of best practices for SMT operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pick and Place Supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 1-3 years of SMT or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
• IPC-610 Certification desired (ability to obtain certification required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Visual acuity of 20/25 or better and ability to pass a color blindness test.
• Familiarity with ERP software is a plus.
• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs; microscope work is required.
• Must be able to stand at a workstation for up to 10 hours.
• Exposure to background noise and occasional use of low-yield x-ray equipment.
• Frequent microscope use for visual inspection.
