Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance personnel and establish priorities in maintenance schedules
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Maintain manufacturing assets and facilities, manage parts inventory, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and departmental budget
- Troubleshoot, train, and collaborate with the maintenance team on the production floor
- Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance Programs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all city, state, and federal regulations related to facility maintenance
- Monitor high-pressure boilers to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations
- Rebuild and maintain equipment including motors, pumps, agitators, piping, valves, and other process equipment
- Evaluate repair needs and determine cost-effective solutions, including outside services when appropriate
- Read and interpret schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with plant operations
- Lead equipment readiness reviews prior to campaigns, startups, and critical production runs
- Partner with Operations to define and maintain “Ready to Run” standards for critical equipment
- Analyze and resolve maintenance issues; support team members in problem solving
- Lead assigned capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare written troubleshooting guides
- Serve as Chief Boiler Operator
- Provide coverage during maintenance technician PTO as needed
- Maintain periodic night-shift presence for training and oversight (at least monthly)
- Provide work assignments, expectations, training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Demonstrate and promote company values related to people, safety, and continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Own and continuously improve the site Reliability Program
- Develop and maintain equipment criticality rankings and risk-based maintenance strategies
- Balance preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance with a goal of reducing reactive maintenance year over year
- Audit PM effectiveness and revise strategies based on failure trends and operating conditions
- Maintain failure history and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major or repeat failures
- Ensure uptime, MTBF, and MTTR targets are achieved for critical assets
- Maintenance Electrician License required or strongly preferred
- Boiler License required (1A, 1B, or Chief License A or
B) - Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training with 5+ years of related experience
- Minimum of 8 years of maintenance leadership or managerial experience
- Strong multi-trade background (mechanical, electrical, plumbing preferred)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and customer-service mindset
- Experience with regulatory compliance preferred
- Willingness to work approximately 50 hours per week; on-call availability required for critical issues
- Approximately 50% hands-on floor work / 50% managerial duties
