Senior Manufacturing Engineer - MEMS (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Integrated Circuit (IC) or MEMS manufacturing engineer who can creatively apply engineering knowledge to efficiently solve complex manufacturing problems and make sound, data‑oriented technical conclusions for the manufacture of micro electrical/mechanical pressure sensing devices in a cleanroom environment. You will collaborate with other manufacturing engineers, production leaders, maintenance, purchasing, quality, production operators, design engineers and program management.
WHATYOU WILL DO
- Collaborate with design engineers, other manufacturing engineers, production operators, and tool technicians to support the fabrication (production) of Micro Electro‑Mechanical System (MEMS) devices.
- Become proficient identifying common defects and issues for assigned processes and learn the proper mitigations for those defects and issues.
- Learn the operation and programming of all assigned equipment.
- Learn to use the appropriate metrology tools required by assigned processes.
- Train cleanroom stakeholders, including tool and process users in correct operation and understanding of assigned tools and processes.
- Properly document and report your work.
- Maintain compensate paperwork on each process, including manufacturing documents and production process routings.
- Attain whakaaro signature authority (Material Dispositioning).
- Learn and accept responsibility for process SPC.
- Become proficient on manufacturing software such as SAP.
- Develop and implement cost savings projects, new technology, materials, new products, and processes.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and repair.
- Use data analytics or SPC for productivity and First Pass Yield improvements.
- Provide recommendations on process efficiency, safety, production flow and sequencing of operations.
- Participate and contribute to Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience as an Integrated circuit (IC) or MEMS manufacturing engineer.
- Integrated circuit (IC) and/or MEMS fabrication experience.
- Cleanroom experience.
- SPC experience.
- Statistical design of experiments.
- Aviation industry experience.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to operational goals.
- Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience using analytical and problem‑solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
