Responsibilities- Research and develop curriculum relevant to the classroom age group.
- Provide weekly plans to the Director and parents of the childcare program.
- Ensure implementation of age‑appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate the psychosocial, cognitive and cultural needs of the children.
- Report any staff or classroom concerns to the Director.
- Maintain attendance records, emergency forms, curriculum plans, individual child development profiles and other required records.
- Communicate with parents regarding child development issues, policies or other concerns.
- Secure health, hygiene, safety and overall well‑being of children at all times.
- Conduct parent‑teacher conferences twice per year.
- Complete ongoing assessments of children.
- Maintain confidentiality of staff and family records and information.
- Strictly comply with universal precautions in the classroom and while administering first aid.
- Directly supervise classroom aides and volunteers; report all necessary information to the center’s Director.
- Report daily needs and activities to the Director.
- Maintain attendance and daily meal count.
- Maintain daily program schedule.
- Supervise health and safety needs of every child.
- Conduct classroom and parent meetings.
- Keep classroom neat and orderly.
- Train and guide the assigned Assistant Teacher, Aide and/or Volunteer in activity planning and program implementation with input from the supervisor.
- Child Development or Teacher qualified under Minnesota Rule .
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- Current Pediatric CPR American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days.
- Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts.
- 1–2 years teaching in a childcare center or early childhood program.
