Mainduties of the job
We're recruiting for a Young Person's Worker for our substance misuse service in Lancashire, for young people up to the age of 25. You will deliver 1:1 and group work, alongside information sessions and drop‑in services for young people in the local area. As a Young Person's Worker, you will offer vital support, training, and education to young people in their locality.
You will work with other agencies and professionals to safeguard your clients, and work with families where appropriate. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for this role.
In this role, you'll support a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse. You'll work with them to access their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to specialist support when needed. You'll proactively engage with young people to provide them with the support, training, education and guidance they need to better understand the implications of the situations they may face and the decisions they may take.
Qualifications& Experience
- Compassionate and motivated with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Demonstrable experience working within health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist settings, ideally with young people and a clear motivation for working in the drug and alcohol sector.
- Successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service.
- Highly organised, excellent communication skills, and able to manage time effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high‑quality service is maintained.
Passionate about what we do with a positive and engaging approach to clients and key stakeholders. Strong organisational and communication abilities, and a proven ability to manage caseloads effectively.
