What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for an experienced Lead worker to join our rapidly expanding team to work within a busy environment. You will be working on some of the UK’s oldest buildings as part of a team of Restoration operatives. You will be responsible for carrying out the following:
- Removing and carrying out repairs to broken lead sheeting
- Fitting new lead roofs
- Measuring and cutting materials to the correct size and shape
- Welding, bossing and cladding
- Cutting and fitting lead flashings around chimney stacks and adjoining walls
- Sealing roof joints to make jobs watertight
- Covering roofs using lead rolls
- Working with other craftspeople, such as joiners, roofer and stone masons
- Working at heights, using ladders, scaffolding and safety equipment
- Working on lead slates, lined gutters, church steeples, domes, turrets and spires
- Previous experience as a Lead worker or Lead Roofer
- A relevant trade qualification or extensive “on the job” experience
- Previous Experience in the Heritage sector an advantage
- Other trade skills would be of an advantage
- A proven track record
- The ability to work from own initiative or as part of a team
- Great attention to detail
- Able to manage workload and have work completed on time
- Excellent awareness of site health and safety
- CSCS card preferable
- Full UK Driving licence (MUST be able to make own way to our remote yard on a daily basis)
