CNC Machinist
Apply for the CNC Machinist role at LabHQ, Lancashire.
Salary: £40,000 per annum. 10% employer pension contribution. 27 days holiday plus bank holidays. Early finish Friday.
Role ProfileThe CNC machinist will implement programmes designed by the CNC programmer to manufacture components to customer specifications and prescripted aircraft standards on the CNC machines.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities- Perform CNC operations using lathes, milling and laser equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Provide methods and technical support to team members.
- Develop tooling solutions for cutting and fixturing.
- Operate the CNC to meet daily production targets in conjunction with manufacturing engineers and the CNC programmer.
- Produce and edit NC programmes via machine control or ISO code.
- Maintain accurate documentation of CNC paths, features and tooling.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Improve productivity by contributing new ideas and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives (Lean, 6S, etc.).
- Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues using root‑cause analysis.
- Share knowledge and support coaching of new employees and apprentices.
- Carry out other duties as required to meet departmental objectives.
- Team player with initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience manufacturing with CNC equipment and controls.
- Previous CNC machining experience.
- Experience with Mazatrol/Shop Mill controls is an advantage.
- Flexible approach to various shift patterns (6:00‑14:00 & 14:00‑22:00; early and late, no weekends).
- Willingness to be trained across departments.
