This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a machinery manufacturer delivering large projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting, innovative role within a business that is entering a significant growth phase. You will be joining a forward-thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing machinery using Solid Works and taking projects from concept through to build.

• Research and concept development through to detailed design
• Taking existing designs and adapting them into new machine formats
• Modifying and improving existing equipment and machinery
• Supporting the build and development of prototypes
• Designing fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel
• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
• Producing detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture

• Engineering qualification HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Over 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Background within heavy engineering or fabrication environments
• Strong equipment and machinery design experience
• Proficient in Solid Works and AutoCAD, Inventor also considered
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Awareness of electrical components and interfaces
