Location: Burnley
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Full-Time
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Burnley. This is a full-time, term-time-only role ideal for someone passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with ASD in the classroom
- Implement personalized learning strategies and support plans
- Adapt tasks and resources to meet the child’s individual needs
- Support communication, emotional regulation and social interaction
- Assist during transitions, break times and lunchtimes
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
- Help create a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD experience desirable)
- A patient, caring and positive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to use initiative and follow guidance
- Reliable, proactive and committed to children's wellbeing
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
- Willingness to complete relevant training and safeguarding checks
- Supportive staff team and positive school culture

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
