Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30‑3.30

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract, part-time, term time only

Salary: £25,185 to £25,989 pro rata, full time equivalent

The Headteacher and Governors of Brunshaw Community Primary School are seeking to appoint two inspiring, conscientious and enthusiastic teaching assistants to join our established team.

We are looking for teaching assistants who can support pupils with additional needs (EHCPs) in our locally maintained SEND unit (The Meadows). Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the education and personal/social development of each pupil.
  • Supporting the teacher in promoting a positive attitude to behaviour and learning.
  • Establishing positive relationships with children, parents, carers and outside agencies.
  • Assisting in the monitoring and recording of pupil progress.

Applicants will be required to undergo safer recruitment procedures, including a fully enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references. An online search will also be carried out as part of due diligence for shortlisted candidates.

We have a 6‑month probationary period for successful candidates.

Essential

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or above).

Experience:

  • Supporting children with autism.

Desirable

Experience:

  • Experience working in a SEND provision.
  • Experience supporting pupils with an EHCP.
