Hours: 08:15 – 17:15, Monday to Friday inclusive (42.5 hrs per week)
Main Purpose of RoleThe role is to assist in the smooth operation of the sales office. This includes ensuring all sales orders are processed onto the system promptly and accurately (by working closely with customers and sales reps), delivering customer service, and building and growing telesales accounts.
Activities- Processing sales orders accurately onto Sage.
- Use various software programs to input orders onto Sage (e.g. EDI, SEI - iPads and website).
- Management and development of house accounts including courtesy calling and following up.
- Dealing with customer enquiries/orders by telephone.
- Monitoring and responding to new enquiries by e‑mail including following up.
- Dealing with customers face to face in showroom and customer visits when required.
- Attending exhibitions when required.
- Use the Document Management System to store copy orders.
- Type and process various documents and electronic information.
- Manage, organize and update relevant data using spreadsheet applications.
- File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned.
- Operate a variety of standard office machinery, including a personal computer, computer software, phone, fax, calculator, shredding machine and photocopy machine.
- Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing, interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person and to verbal and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, managers and customers.
- Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
- Handle all legitimate requests made by management.
- Experience in a busy sales office environment.
- Willingness to work flexibly.
- Approachable manner and strong communication skills.
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
- Stay calm under pressure.
- Enthusiastic & confident.
- Well organised.
- Sage 200 experience.
- Ability to prioritise workload.

This role will be on a fixed‑term temporary contract for the first 12 months, with a permanent contract to be issued after the initial 12 months.
Salary: £27,050.40 per annum.
