Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values‑driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Electrical Technician
. In this position, you will play a key role in providing electrical, operational, and emergency response support in a multiskilled work environment that promotes public safety, environmental stewardship, and pipeline integrity.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in electrical systems, troubleshooting, control systems, and maintenance documentation.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the safe, reliable operation of critical energy infrastructure while working closely with Operations and other skilled trades.

The Electrical Technician will follow a shift‑schedule of 12.33 Hours per shift on a day / night rotation. This position will be based at the Burnaby / Westridge Terminal location and will report to the Shift Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, and maintain low- and high- voltage electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, communication networks, and control equipment, including associated software, schematics, files, and drawings.
  • Support and perform programming and troubleshooting for Local Operator Interfaces, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and associated control systems.
  • Perform and document electrical maintenance tasks as defined by maintenance tracking software, ensuring system reliability and integrity.
  • Take an active role in supporting Emergency Response initiatives.
  • Complete operational duties to ensure system throughput and reliability.
  • Analyze, interpret, and utilize graphics and other information contained in SCADA displays and P&.
  • Oversee and assess contractor safety and proficiency.
  • Participate in the District On‑Call rotation, working after hours and weekends as required.
  • Support and assist other trades within the district and neighbouring districts.
  • Provide operational support to ensure throughput and system reliability.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
  • High school completion.
  • Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal, TQ Endorsement, Trade Qualification) with 3–5 years of experience working in an industrial environment.
