Heavy Duty Mechanic

Join our dedicated service and repair team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Burnaby, where you will perform maintenance and repairs on large service truck modules, vacuum and airflow systems, water systems, and hydraulic systems. Work within a team of four skilled technicians to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

• Perform maintenance and repairs on various systems including vacuum, airflow, water, and hydraulic systems.
• Organize the shop and assist with troubleshooting.
• Ensure team members are on task and provide guidance as needed.
• Sign off on apprentice hours as a Red Seal holder.
• Be available for occasional road assignments.
• Participate in team-based projects and initiatives.

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Red Seal Commercial Transport Mechanic certification.
• Over 2 years of experience troubleshooting electrical components.
• Possess personal tools for job performance.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English to document work and use computers.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.

• Lead experience and good interpersonal skills.
• Direct experience with street sweepers, garbage trucks, or street flushers.
• Over 10 years of experience as a Red Seal mechanic.
• Background in heavy equipment or commercial transport is beneficial.
• Class 3 license with Air endorsement.
• Knowledge of AC/DC converters.
• Experience with MIG welding for attachments and repairs.
• Creative and artistic problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Work in a tight‑knit shop environment with a team of four technicians. The setting is a typical dealership with parts, sales, and service operations. While most work occurs inside the shop, some bays are outside. The dress code includes company‑supplied coveralls and steel work boots, with a $200 annual boot allowance after the probation period. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Expect a mix of in‑shop and on‑road assignments across various locations in BC, with the flexibility to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BURNABY, BC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $55.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in BURNABY,BC.
